Yahoo Unveils Mobile Publisher Tools, Mobile Ad Network
Earlier this month, Yahoo expanded the reach of its OneSearch mobile search application, making it available to more mobile Web users. Today, Yahoo is releasing some tools for publishers to submit their content to the OneSearch index or Yahoo Mobile Media Directory, and to sign up to show ads on their mobile sites from the new Yahoo Mobile Ad Network.
Launch partners in the Mobile Ad Network include MobiTV, Opera, and go2. The first ads will go live in the second quarter, with more partners to be added in coming months.
The Yahoo Mobile Content Engine is a tool to help publishers integrate their content into the oneSearch index. Publishers can use Yahoo's Mobile Site Submit to provide information about their mobile site, such as a description and relevant tags, to ensure that their sites are accurately indexed in oneSearch.
Publishers can also submit mobile media content, such as ringtones, games, video and applications, to the Yahoo Mobile Media Directory.
